そもそもの話はA. Gelmanの『Data Analysis Using Regression and Multilevel/Hierarchical Models』が、中国のとある出版社から「政治的にsensitiveな内容を多数含む」と言われて出版が頓挫してしまったというネタらしいです。
上記の昔の中国共産党×事前分布のネタは、Xiao-Li Meng氏に聞いた話として紹介されています*1。
